Located In Kansas’ Little Sweden, The Svensk Hyllningsfest Celebrates All Things Swedish

Looking for a unique fall festival in Kansas isn't tough. There are hundreds of autumn events scattered throughout the Sunflower State, and you can practically fill every fall weekend with an exciting outing. One particularly special gathering takes place the weekend of October 13-14, 2023. The Svensk Hyllningsfest is a Swedish festival that takes place in odd-numbered years in the little town of Lindsborg, KS (also known as Kansas's Little Sweden). This city in McPherson County has a large population of Swedish and Scandinavian descendants, and the Svensk Hyllningsfest is such a fun way to celebrate the town's Swedish heritage!

This is truly one of the most charming small towns in Kansas. There's a herd of Dala Horses scattered around town.

These beautifully-decorated statues add a burst of color and quirkiness to the landscape.

The festival draws plenty of vendors to the craft fair. All of the items for sale are handmade and feature Swedish themes.

The food court is full of an array of delicious treats.

The Svensk Hyllningsfest schedule is packed with entertainment and musicians, with a special focus on Scandinavian sounds.

The dancers have practiced all year for their traditional Swedish folk dances and are sure to put on a great show.

The Grand Parade is an hour-long affair filled with marching bands, Swedish costumes, and more.

This is such a great biennial event that's so much fun for the whole family!
