You’ve Gotta See These 9 Spectacular Neighborhood Christmas Light Displays In Kansas

Neighborhood Christmas light displays and local events are a core part of the celebrations we enjoy before the holiday season is over. Though we love to see our local neighborhoods every year, sometimes a short trip to somewhere special is in order. What do you say, want to take a look around? Here are some of the best Christmas lights in Kansas not to be missed this holiday season.

1. Paulie's Penguin Playground - Olathe

Penguins! This penguin-themed display is all about raising money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and donations are the reason for the penguin season. It's a walk-through display though, so make sure you're ready to stretch your legs around others who are here to see the inflatable maze! Give them a follow on Facebook to stay up to date for this year's display.

2. Holiday Lights at Deanna Rose Farmstead - Overland Park

Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is always a great place for kids and families year-round, and that is also true for Christmas. Light displays of all sorts shine on the barn, moving in sync with a custom FM radio station. An amazing show, for sure. Follow them on Facebook for updates for the 2022 season.

3. City of Pittsburg

Though there's not a dedicated neighborhood that we've heard of, the main street in Pittsburg does the most. A whole row of lights will make your journey bright while you browse all of the local shopping opportunities.

4. Festival of Lights at Blue Earth Plaza - Manhattan

One of our favorite Christmas light displays in Kansas, the Festival of Lights at Blue Earth Plaza never disappoints. Around Manhattan, these beautiful lights surrounding a giant glowing tree are on display until the first of the new year. The sparkling lights just pave the way for excitement about the coming year.

5. Candy Cane Lane - Prairie Village

This drive-thru Christmas lights in Kansas is short and sweet, but a tradition that's been going strong for this cul-de-sac for nearly 50 years, so it's worth a drive-by. A beautiful neighborhood in an equally beautiful town comes together every night until 10 p.m. or so to light up the neighborhood. Lights from November until the new year will generate plenty of cheer, we think!

6. Boot Hill Museum - Dodge City

Boot Hill has its own version of a modern and historic flavor of the holidays. Twinkling lights, wreaths and ribbons, caroling, and more make this old-timey display something magical. The museum hasn't announced its holiday light show dates yet, so be sure to follow them on Facebook for the latest information.

7. TARC's Winter Wonderland - Topeka

TARC raises money every year with its beautiful Winter Wonderland display, with two miles of holiday lights that await you. Each donation at the door benefits children, families, and adults with disabilities. You can create a lot of love with a car full of Christmas cheer at this Christmas light display in Kansas.

8. Festival of Lights at Shiloh Vineyard & Winery - WaKeeney

We've all heard about WaKeeney's in-town light display, but have you heard about Shiloh Vineyard? Their beautiful bit of Christmas cheer comes in the form of a Festival of Lights.

9. Candycane Lane - Wichita

Until December 31st, you can enjoy a full neighborhood cul-de-sac of Christmas lights and cheer. Candy canes may be the theme, but the cheer is the reason they're here. Give them a follow on Facebook to stay up to date as the season approaches.
