It's a pretty well-known fact that Kansas is home to several ghost towns and alleged hauntings, but the abandoned town of Le Hunt brings both of these together. It may not seem like it now, but at one time the town of Le Hunt, Kansas was a bustling place that employed many through its United Kansas Portland Cement Company.
Like several other businesses, the United Kansas Portland Cement Company went under during the Great Depression and with it went the rest of the small town.
While most deserted the plant (and town) after it closed, the only soul to remain behind was that of factory worker, Bohr.
As legend has it, Bohr met his demise during the plant's heyday, when he fell into a vat of concrete and died.
After Bohr's untimely death, co-workers are said to have encapsulated his wheelbarrow, pick and shovel into a wall of concrete that can still be seen today.
All that remains of the town of Le Hunt is the dilapidated cement factory, abandoned homes, an old cemetery, and other remnants that have since been reclaimed by nature.
