Encounter Dinosaurs At This Interactive Iowa Science Museum

Odds are that we all had a dinosaur phase as kids - for some of us, it never actually ended! There's just something thrilling about seeing these massive beasts from millions of years past, especially if our personal favorite is there - mine is the unusual Baryonyx. Many of the best dinosaur exhibits are temporary ones, especially those that recreate the appearance and ecosystem of the massive beasts, rather than simply displaying their bones. That's the case for Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice, which will be running at the Bluedorn Science Imaginarium in Waterloo's Grout Museum District starting on May 18 and lasting through September 7, 2024. Part of a larger exhibit exploring the secrets of the prehistoric world, this dinosaur exhibit in Iowa will feature stunning models and interactive activities for kids of all ages to enjoy.

The Bluedorn Science Imaginarium, part of the Grout Museum District, is an interactive museum geared towards kids 4-13.

Currently, they're showing off the "Land of Fire and Ice" exhibit, looking into the ecosystem of prehistoric life. It'll be on display until September 7, 2024.

But that's just a prelude to the exhibit starting May 7, 2024 - bringing the most famous prehistoric beasts to Waterloo.

"Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice" will be filled with realistic depictions of dinosaurs big and small. Kids will be able to stack themselves up against these ancient life-sized beasts.

There will also be hands-on depictions of the ecosystems that these majestic beasts lived in.

Of course, today, dinosaurs can only be explored through fossils - and kids will be able to take on the role of a paleontologist and see what they can unearth.

The opening happens in May, and it's guaranteed to be a unique, whimsical environment that will fascinate every dinosaur-loving kid who visits.
