There’s An RV Museum In Indiana And It’s Full Of Fascinating Oddities, Artifacts, And More

We all know there really isn't a shortage of unique and offbeat places in Indiana. We just so happen to be home to the largest Dr. Who museum in North America, for example, which isn't something you find just anywhere. Well, today we're going to look closer at another strange museum in the Hoosier State that you definitely won't find just anywhere: the bizarre and yet extremely interesting RV museum is a must-do, even if RVs aren't quite your cup of tea.

Despite popular belief, RV/MH does not stand for "Recreational Vehicle/ Motor Home;" it's actually for "Recreational Vehicle/Manufactured Housing."

This museum doesn't necessarily sound like it's going to be interesting, but trust us when we promise you that it totally is! Everyone from RV enthusiasts to outdoorsy folks to those who simply enjoy history are more than welcome, and each group of people always seems to find plenty to like here.

The museum is open every day with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

That leaves us with plenty of days to check out this museum firsthand - and then plenty of days to come right on back when the mood strikes us (and we're pretty sure it will).

There are even several models that will probably blow your mind a little bit as soon as you realize just how long people have had the idea for a rolling hotel room with all the convenience of home inside.

We didn't even realize that there WERE this many versions of what essentially boils down to the same general concept.

You'll see RVs and MHs that will probably take you back to when you were a kid and your parents or grandparents had one.

Some of the models on display are fully immersive, meaning you can actually go into them and explore. It's super fun - especially with the older ones!

The MH/RV Museum in Indiana is an unusual, but overall worth it, adventure for a quiet day.
