This Epic Snow Tubing Hill Near Chicago Will Give You The Winter Thrill Of A Lifetime

While just about all the land in and around Chicago is pretty flat, there is a special place steep enough to go snow tubing that you absolutely must find. There's no better winter adventure than this in the whole state.

Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville contains 1,366 acres of natural wonders you don't want to miss. It is part of the DuPage County Forest Preserve and is home to the best winter activity anywhere near Chicago.

Mount Hoy is a 800-foot snow tubing hill that locals look forward to every year. It is open on weekends and holidays in December, January, and February when three or more inches of snow are on the ground.

Visitors must use an inner tube that can be rented from the district at the bottom of the hill. The cost is $5 per day, and the hill is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mount Hoy is an old landfill that was in use between 1965 and 1973. In addition to sledding, it is also used as a scenic overlook and an ideal spot for bird watching.

Visitors can also rent snowshoes for winter hiking.
