It is set in a historic mansion known as the Eleanor Robinson Countiss House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This unique attraction is accessible by train or bus, and it is open daily from 10 AM to 4 or 5 PM.
The museum teaches visitors about the history and progress of surgical science around the world as well as about other subjects related to medicine and the medical field.
The museum contains 10,000 square feet of galleries and art exhibits with more than 7,000 medical artifacts from around the world.
Exhibits explore everything from x-rays to acupuncture.
Guests can learn about polio, ancient medicine, and blood transfusions, as well as about the evolution of nursing, pain management, and apothecary.
There are also extensive art galleries that showcase pieces inspired by the medical field, giving the viewer a new perspective to consider.
Everywhere you turn, you'll find something unusual that was once used to work on someone's insides.

This is a popular spot for field trips, and guests can schedule guided tours and even an amputation demonstration.
Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, students, and military personnel, and $8 for children ages 4-13. Younger children and museum members get in for free.
