This Barnyard-Themed Water Park In Illinois Is Insanely Fun For Kids

When most aquatic parks are going with the tropical theme, there's one in Aurora, Illinois that's decided to go against the grain. This country water park features a farm theme that is quite charming and perfect for the Midwest.

Splash Country Water Park in northern Illinois straddles the line between the rural part of the state and the suburbs. Just on the outskirts of Chicagoland, it gives those living an urban lifestyle the chance to experience life on the farm without all the dirt, fields, and pigs.

This gorgeous water park is modeled after a barnyard with silos, barns, and other replica equipment. From the moment you walk inside, you'll be on a unique journey at this Midwest-themed aquatic park.

The park is home to a six-lane zero-depth pool that is most popular for kids to play and splash around in. There are also open and enclosed tube slides that the most adventurous can't resist.

This country water park is also home to the second longest lazy river in Illinois Spanning 1,100 feet, it winds past dump buckets, spray jets, and bubbling rapids.

There is also a kid-friendly area with water guns, a waterfall, and many other interactive features. Non-water activities include a sand pit near the shade, sand volleyball courts, and concession stands.

General admission is $8 for ages 13 and up for residents. Children between ages 2 and 12 as well as seniors age 62 and up may enter for $7 while those under the age of 2 are free. Admission is $1 more on the weekends.

Non-residents pay about $4 more per person.
