The Catcade in northern Illinois combines two marvelous attractions that fanatics of all sorts won't be able to resist.
Cat lovers and vintage arcade goers will find a home at this cat arcade that combines two fun attractions into one. Enjoy a classic video game arcade and a modern cat cafe in one.
Guests pay $15 to visit the 600 square-foot cat lounge where there are free video games to play and many cats to meet and play with.
Each cat is adoptable (other than the resident feline, Leo), and all are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and ready for same-day adoption.
The entry fee helps to pay for sheltering and feeding the cats as well as keeping them healthy prior to adoption. The fee pays for one hour of visit time.
Occasional events take place throughout the year, including painting with pets and a Catcade carnival that you won't want to miss.
Guests must be at least 7 years of age to enter the lounge of the cat arcade and reservations are recommended. Walk-ins are welcome, but those who do may have to wait.
The Catcade is open Monday and Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. as well as Saturday between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. with a one-hour nap break for the kitties between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Get more details on its website or Facebook page.
