These Fireworks Displays In Idaho Will Drop Your Jaw

Idahoans love fireworks! Honoring America and the service men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom has never been this beautiful.

Ah, Independence Day. Honoring America and, in particular, paying tribute to the soldiers and families who have sacrificed to preserve our country's freedom, there's nothing quite like this vibrant holiday! Local fireworks displays offer a heart-pounding combination of colors, sounds, and the celebratory atmosphere of patriotism, family BBQs, and magic in the air happening all at once. Check out these awesome 4th of July displays happening near you this year.

1. Melaleuca Freedom Celebration, Idaho Falls

Idaho Falls has long held a reputation for hosting the largest Fourth of July fireworks display in the state... and in the West! With over 17,000 shells being launched in a 30-minute extravaganza along the Snake River greenbelt and choreographed to music, this Southern Idaho town tops the shows put on by Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, and other major cities in terms of sheer numbers with the goal of being the largest show west of the Mississippi. Don't believe it? Check it out for yourself! And be sure to catch the symphony and day-long festivities as well.

2. City of McCall

For a family-friendly event that culminates in a beautiful fireworks display over Payette Lake, McCall is the best place to be! View from the shore, or take a Fireworks Cruise with McCall Lake Cruises to see the show up close and personal.

3. City of Coeur d'Alene

The festivities last all day in scenic CDA, highlighted by Northern Idaho's largest fireworks display being launched over Lake Coeur d'Alene at dusk. Catch the show from the resort, the park, or head to the shore.

4. City of Boise

Idaho's capital city hosts a huge 4th of July celebration and fireworks show every year, complete with a festival, pancake breakfast, live orchestra, and more.

5. Silverwood 4th of July Extravaganza, Athol

Spend the day riding roller coasters at Silverwood and cooling off at Boulder Beach before enjoying an epic display inside the park in the evening.

6. City of Driggs

Formerly hosted in Victor as a private event, Idaho's Teton Valley recently moved their local show to Driggs to make it more open to the public, while also bringing in live music from famous artists like the Beach Boys.

7. Days of the Old West, Hailey

Hailey's "Days of the Old West" plays host to a rodeo, community BBQ, antique market, and more, culminating in a fireworks show at the park.

8. God and Country Festival, Nampa

Nampa plays host to the Treasure Valley God and Country festival every year, which features numerous artists and bands and culminates in a huge fireworks display that doesn't conflict with the Independence Day celebrations of other cities.

9. City of Kellogg/Silver Mountain Resort

Beautiful views of the show can be seen from the mountaintop resort, or from down in the valley where you will also find live music in the park, a vendor fair, a parade, and much more.

10. City of Priest Lake

Elkins Resort On the Lake will be hosting a fireworks display this year in Reeder Bay, carrying on a tradition that was started by Hill's Resort in the 80s. Enjoy the incredible display over the water from any number of lookout points or on the beach.

11. City of Stanley

Enjoy a brilliant display of fireworks with some of Idaho's best and most scenic mountains as a backdrop, alongside a parade and live-music street dance.

Continue to check back as we add more local celebrations leading up to the 4th. And remember, wherever you are and however you choose to celebrate our country and continued freedom, please be safe out there and enjoy the day-long festivities!
