Sometimes, it’s the only place around for miles, but honestly, I would visit these 9 charming general stores in Hawaii regardless; I would much rather spend my money to feel nostalgia than at a gas station chain.

A run-down general store with lots of history and everything from packaged food items, hardware, fishing gear, and souvenirs. Items will be a little more expensive here, simply because there isn’t much supply in the area.

2) Kaupo General Store, Kula

A convenient store perfect for grabbing a cold drink and some souvenirs, Kaupo also has an excellent collection of antiques on display.

3) Hygienic Store, Oahu

Located on Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe is this general store full of nostalgia, and according to several Yelp users, it has not changed in decades.
