This Rare Footage Of Starcadia, A Georgia Amusement Park Will Have You Longing For The Good Old Days

Starcadia, a once-thriving amusement park in Macon, Georgia, now sits abandoned but retains nostalgic charm.

Does anyone remember the good ol’ days where you could spend a whole afternoon at Starcadia in Macon, and enjoy batting cages, an arcade, and some epic go-cart races? Unfortunately, this once-thriving park which was one of the first businesses in the area has sat empty and vacant for over two decades now. With rare footage of the abandoned Georgia amusement park circulating, check out a dose of nostalgia.

Nearly 25 years ago, a tiny amusement park was built off of Bass Road in Georgia and was called Starcadia.

Visitors to this thriving entertainment park would be able to race go-karts, play putt-putt, and knock baseballs into oblivion.

Starcadia opened back in 1998 and was the epitome of entertainment for kids and families within the Macon area.

Unfortunately, in 2008 when the economy took a turn, Starcadia also felt the brunt of the misfortune.

The park closed down and has since been sitting vacant—despite being listed for sale valued at nearly $2.5 million.

This abandoned amusement park is only a shell of its former self but still retains some withered charm within.

If you’ve ever visited, then you’ll likely remember the whimsical mini-golf course, or the tires lining the race track.

While the 6-acre park remains untouched, the owners are hopeful that the land will eventually fall into the right hands.

But until then, the remains of what once was a magical place for many families sit still and empty.
