The Independence Day Car Show In Georgia Is An Auto-Buff’s Dream

Summer is book-ended by Memorial Day and Labor Day, but right in between those two is Independence Day, and it's typically the biggest holiday of them all. There are lots of great 4th of July events in Georgia, from amazing fireworks shows to family-friendly festivals in every corner of the state. One unique event that will be of particular interest to car lovers is the Independence Day Car Show at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA. This year's event takes place Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and it's sure to be a blast. Dawsonville is one of our favorite small towns in Georgia and if you've been looking for an excuse to spend a weekend in the mountains, this promises to be a great afternoon for gearheads. Even if you aren't particularly interested in car racing, the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is a great way to spend an hour or two. This hidden gem museum features a number of antique and replica cars and covers the last 100 years of car racing.

The museum has self-guided tours of the exhibits here, but also hosts car shows throughout the year, often on holiday weekends.

The car show also hosts vendors, plus food trucks.
