Mark Your Calendars, As This Fun Water Park Is Opening Soon In Georgia

Normally, I try to focus on the good aspect of life in Georgia. There are definitely plenty to mention: we've got amazing scenery, delicious restaurants, endless attractions, and, of course, friendly people. However, there is one aspect of life in the Peach State that is not for everyone (and certainly not for me): the heat. The summers here can be absolutely miserable, and summer in Georgia might be fun for some, but for me it mostly means humidity, mugginess, and wishing I could be inside relaxing in the air conditioning. Still, even I have to admit that there are some ways to have fun and stay cool in the warm months here, and one of my favorite ways is visiting a water park. If you're looking for a great way to cool off near Atlanta this year, you won't want to miss a visit to the Spivey Splash Water Park in Jonesboro, GA. It's opening for the season on May 25, 2024, and it's going to be a blast for the whole family.

Spivey Splash Water Park is in Clayton County, about half an hour south of Atlanta proper.

The park features plenty of attractions to entertain the entire family.

At 1,279 feet long, the lazy river here is the longest in the entire state.

If you're looking for something a little more action-packed, you might find the slides to be right up your alley.

The Flow Rider is so much fun - it's an opportunity to attempt surfing in a more controlled environment than the beach.

The kiddie pool contains a splash bucket and several slides. It's perfect for kids under 48 inches.

Another kids-only attraction here is the Splash Pad, which is full of geysers and splashers that will be a blast for any kid.

This place looks like so much fun: I'm ready to hit up the lazy river!
