You’ll Never Forget A Dip In This Unbelievable Pool In Florida

The Venetian Pool in Coral Gables, Florida, is the largest freshwater swimming pool in America, offering a refreshing and historic experience.

If you've lived in Florida for any real length of time, you've probably seen plenty of pools. We're willing to bet, though, that none of them were quite as cool as this famous Florida landmark.

(Please note: The Venetian Pool will be closed for renovations from December 2016 - February 2017. Add it to your calendars for next spring!)

Welcome to the Venetian Pool in the City of Coral Gables.

This tropical paradise hardly shows its age, but it actually dates back to 1924.

It was built in a rock quarry, and the coral from the quarry was used for many of the pool's exotic features.

This Mediterranean-style landmark is lots of fun to swim in, with palm trees, porticos, grottos, a small bridge, and two waterfalls.

Not only is it beautiful, this 820,000-gallon pool holds the distinction of being the largest freshwater swimming pool in the world, as well as the only swimming pool on the National Register of Historic Places.

Plus, this unique pool has some of the most beautiful, clear, blue water you'll ever swim in.

The spring-fed pool has a natural filtration system that recycles the water back into the aquifer, ensuring the water stays crisp and clean.

The pool is very popular and guests will be turned away when maximum capacity is reached, so arrive as early as possible. Children under the age of 3 (and 38 inches tall) are not allowed to enter the facility, and proof of age may be required. The pool will be closed for renovations through February 2017, but we're looking forward to chilling poolside next spring.
