Myakka River State Park near Sarasota is one of Florida's oldest and largest state parks. The park offers a unique experience, from the huge selection of native wildlife to the biggest airboats in the world. Visitors can even walk through the treetops on the Canopy Walkway.
Though some people might be afraid of walking such a narrow path through the trees, the suspension bridge is actually not too high off the ground. It's meant to sit at about the level of the treetops, so visitors feel like they're walking through the trees. The bridge was designed after those used in rain forests, and it was the first canopy walk in Florida. The observation tower, however, reaches 76 feet in the air, and this is where you will get the best views (assuming you're not afraid of heights).
