The Unique Outdoor Aventure Every Floridian Should Experience At Least Once

Experience a unique summer adventure in Florida by joining the Museum of Discovery and Science's Summer Sea Turtle Walk.

When you normally think of summer in Florida, you probably think of things along the lines of long beach days, sipping on frozen drinks, and day trips to the natural springs. However, we have one summer adventure that is unique unto itself and worth so much more than you could imagine. Bring the whole family, because this is one experience not to miss.

There is a summer adventure In Florida that you have to experience firsthand in order to understand how special it is.

Have you ever seen tracks like this in the sand? Maybe at your favorite Florida beach?

From spring to early fall, female sea turtles start their quest of building nests on the beaches in Florida and laying eggs at night, before returning back to the ocean.

After a 60 day incubation period, the baby sea turtles hatch, crawling back to the sea in a very risky journey.

The Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale has a Summer Sea Turtle Walk for participants of all ages in order to experience this moonlit adventure in person.

An entire evening of sea turtle exploration, guests will start the walk at 9 p.m. with a presentation regarding the lives of sea turtles.

Then, expert staff members from the museum will lead the group to the beach, where participants will be able to see the nesting grounds in person and sometimes even watch the mother lay her eggs!

While there isn’t a guarantee that each walk will provide a unique sea turtle sighting, it’s worth it just to experience something this magical in Florida.

Bring the family, bring your friends, and join the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale for the Summer Sea Turtle Walk.
