That's Amore Italian Festival in Stamford is back and better than ever, offering a vibrant celebration of Italian culture with food, music, and activities for all ages. Who knew you could experience a little slice of Italy right here in Connecticut? Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 12th, and Sunday, October 13th, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Mill River Park in Downtown Stamford, Connecticut. This beloved festival will transform the park into Little Italy, bringing together the sights, sounds, and flavors of Italy for an unforgettable weekend. This year, get ready to enjoy dishes from over 15 hand-selected vendors, including some incredible must-try offerings.
You won't want to miss the festival classic, the Sausage & Pepper Sandwich, made with only the best DeYulio Sausages. The DeYulio family has been in the sausage business since the early 1900s, always family-owned and operated. Run by the Altamura and Pasquino families, this booth guarantees the best sausage and pepper sandwich you’ll ever have!
Next up on the list? D'ABRUZZO NYC, an award-winning vendor bringing true street food from the Abruzzo region of Italy. Their signature dish, arrosticini—delicate cubes of lamb cooked on a specially-made grill—has been celebrated in both local and international media.
Of course, no Italian festival is complete without lots and lots of homemade pasta, and That's Amore Italian Festival will have loads of it. Fresh pasta lovers are in for a treat with Il Pastaficio from Cos Cob, Greenwich. Owned by Federico Perandin, Il Pastaficio makes all its pasta fresh using flour imported from Italy. You won’t find any Americanized dishes here, just true Italian flavors! BARI 167, a local favorite on Bedford Street, will showcase owner/chef Dino Sforza preparing fresh pasta in a giant pan, highlighting his use of fresh ingredients and traditional techniques.
Satisfy your sweet tooth with delicious Italian desserts from DiMare Pastry Shop. With over 60 years of history, the DiMare family continues to bring their love of baking to Stamford. Don’t miss out on their famous cannoli and sfogliatelle.
And while food is certainly at the heart of this event, there will be plenty of festivities to keep all ages entertained. Enjoy the sounds of Italy with incredible live performances by Vittoria DiCarlo, Alessandro, Biagio, and local favorite Francesco Castiglione. You'll also be able to quench your thirst at one of the festival’s themed bars, including the Aperol Spritz Bar, the Peroni Bar, and a Wine Bar. Don’t miss the live cooking demonstration on stage by Blackstone Betty!
This free event is presented by Blackstone Products, Napoli Foods, and the Italian Center. The event goes beyond food and fun; it's also a dedicated community event, as made evident by this quote from Jonathan Hoch, Executive Director of the Italian Center: "For over 100 years the Italian Center of Stamford has been committed to serving the community and making Stamford a better place. The Italian Center’s mission is to preserve and honor the Italian heritage, culture, and traditions while welcoming all who share our values of family, recreation, and community. We see no better example of this than the That’s Amore Italian Festival. We are honored to once again partner with Ilario and all of the sponsors to make this event the preeminent celebration of Italian heritage, culture, and traditions in Connecticut!"
