The Lutz Children's Museum is a small museum housed in a former schoolhouse. It's a tiny museum that's great for spending a few hours educating the kiddos. Check it out:
The Lutz Children Museum was founded in 1953 by the Manchester Parent Teacher Association.
The museum is small, but perfect for filling 2-3 hours. There's a seasonal nature center, Oak Grove Nature Center, that is operated by the museum and located nearby. It's open from April through October.
The exhibits change regularly and there are often special presentations or classes being offered.
The Main Street 1943 exhibit is pretty neat - it represents what Manchester, CT would have looked like in 1943.
It's a cool look at the World War II era in Connecticut that even adults will enjoy.
There's also a farm room that has information about life on a farm.
There's even a cow statue that can be milked!
The animal room is a big hit. It houses snakes, chinchillas, a woodchuck, and more.
