If you hail from the great Centennial State, you know that it is the most beautiful place in the world. But when outsiders acknowledge it, too, you know we have to share! Our very own Red Rocks Ampitheater has been named as one of the most beautiful places in the U.S., and we think you'll agree! Come along as we show you our own little slice of natural beauty heaven just minutes from downtown Denver. If you haven't been, we know you'll add it to your travel bucket list!
Located in Morrison, Red Rocks Ampitheatre is one of the most unique concert venues in America.
This an open-air amphitheater was built within a dramatic red rock structure.
The venue is as iconic as it is stunning.
Sitting at an elevation of 6,000 feet above sea level, it has hosted legendary music performances by the Beatles, Blues Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, and the Grateful Dead.
There are so many different viewpoints from which you can see the surrounding area.
But the scenic views are just the beginning of the experience here.
It is a great place to get excercise!
People come from all over the area to walk the rows, run the stairs, and hike the trails meandering around the property. We spent about 2 hours here and it was marvelous!
Despite the venue not being completed until 1941, Red Rocks hosted its first event in 1906.
At that time, a 25-piece brass band entertained Coloradans in the world's first acoustically perfect amphitheater.
At night is when the stage comes alive.
No matter what kind of band is performing, visitors to the unique concert venue in Colorado are sure to have a great time!
Visitors are advised, however, to be aware of the altitude.
Be sure to drink lots of water or other hydrating drinks so that you don't get lightheaded or overheated.
There's nothing more to say but, "Aaaaah!"
We are so proud to be the home of America's most beautiful amphitheater, and we know you'll absolutely love it!
