Built in 1929, the Royal Gorge Bridge is a jaw-dropping 1,260 feet long and spans the entire length of its namesake canyon, making for views you will never forget.
Standing 955 feet above the Arkansas River, the Royal Gorge was once the highest suspension bridge in the entire world but lost its title to China's Beipanjiang River Bridge in 2003.
Constructed with sturdy steel and 1,292 wooden planks, the Royal Gorge Bridge is strong enough to withhold both ample foot traffic, thanks to routine upkeep that keeps the structure in tip-top shape.
In addition to the Bridge, there is plenty more to see and do around the area, including the exciting Royal Gorge Railroad, Royal Gorge Park, and the Royal Gorge Rafting & Zip Line Tours.
