Hiding out in Denver is that of the fascinating Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (or CELL), which is "dedicated to preventing terrorism through education, empowerment, and engagement."

Opened in 2008, Denver was chosen as the location for this important center because of its centrality and gives thousands of visitors each year a unique look into the complex world of counterterrorism.

How does CELL both meet and exceed their mission to educate, empower, and engage? For starters, it has eye-opening exhibits like the Tools of Terrorists...

...educational videos and presentations...

...an empowering action center...

...and even a number of special events and lectures.

This is the real deal, folks, as the CELL hosts not only locals and tourists, but such dignitaries as Sen. Harry Reid, former Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.

The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab is located at 99 W. 12th St. in Denver and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 5 pm.
