The New Butterfly Refuge In Colorado Is As Vibrant And Magical As It Sounds
Chatfield Farms Butterfly House in Colorado offers a vibrant and magical experience with hundreds of native butterflies.
Have you ever met anyone who doesn't like butterflies? These whimsical and colorful insects are always a welcome sight in Colorado, especially when they are in our backyards and gardens! If you, like me (and my 5-year-old), cannot get enough of these majestic bugs, you will be happy to hear that there is a new butterfly refuge in Colorado that is downright vibrant and magical:
Welcome to the aptly-named Chatfield Farms Butterfly House!
Located at the stunning Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms in Littleton, the Chatfield Farms Butterfly House is a collaboration with the Butterfly Pavilion and features hundreds of native butterflies flying through an all-new garden.
As per Chatfield Farms, the "plants in this house are used as a nectar source for butterfly food and designed to create a whimsical atmosphere" that attracts such flying beauties as painted ladies, swallowtails, and monarchs.
If you think the pictures are stunning, wait until you see the garden - which will have 150+ new butterflies released into it each week - in person!
Admission to Chatfield Farms and the Butterfly House is $10 for adults and $7 for children, students, and seniors.
To learn more about Chatfield Farms - or to purchase your tickets in advance - please visit the Denver Botanic Gardens' website.
The Butterfly House at Chatfield Farms is open every day from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from May 28th through September 4th (2022).
