Dead Dolly Lane In Southern California Just Might Be The Strangest Roadside Attraction Yet

Any road trip is made even better by the unexpected, from happening upon a fabulous hidden gem of a restaurant to a quirky roadside attraction that you didn’t know existed. And then there are some roadside attractions that are so strange that they are almost worth a road trip just to see them. Enter Dead Dolly Lane. This roadside attraction in Southern California is so strange, you need to see it.

You can find Dead Dolly Lane almost 10 miles southeast of downtown Alpine on Japatul Road, close to the intersection of Japatul Road and Japatul Spur.

What has come to be known as Dead Dolly Lane is actually a private driveway in Alpine, California. As strange as it is, this bizarre roadside attraction is more well-known online than it is among locals in San Diego County.

If dolls without bodies, and body parts without heads, were not wacky enough, some of these dolls have face and body piercings.

Many people find dolls in general to be a little creepy. Even if you love dolls, a visit to this somewhat unnerving display may just leave you feeling differently.

While a lot of the “dead” dollies are ugly, broken, and creepy in an obvious way, some of the most unsettling dolls are the ones like the undamaged Barbie who seems to either be frolicking through the field of doll bodies, or perhaps running from it.

Signs in various languages such as Spanish, Scots Gaelic, Italian, and Latin contain creepy and ominous messages that mention a broken nose, being watched by the eyes of a witch, etc.

The signs were apparently put up to ward off unwelcome trespassers, but not to keep people from enjoying this strange and creepy attraction.

This lane, which can only really be described as a dolly graveyard, is private property owned by artist Toni Fusco, but the public is allowed to explore it.

Dolls, many of which are dismembered, burned, and mangled are tied up all along the barbed wire fence on both sides of the driveway.

Not all of the dolls belong to the owner. People bring their own dolls to contribute which has turned this into a real community project.

This weird attraction has become a popular place for those who find it to take selfies. And why not? Some of these babies are already posed for the shot.

One more impaled doll head and several scarecrows lie just past the end of Dead Dolly Lane, reminding visitors that this is private property and time to turn around.
