Southern California Has An Entire Museum Dedicated To Neon Art And It’s As Awesome As You’d Think

When is the last time you went out to see something unique for a change? Sure, local hot spots are great, but shaking things up can be just what you need to keep yourself entertained. If you weren't aware, Southern California has a special museum dedicated to neon art that belongs on everyone's bucket list. Neon comes in many forms, but all of them are welcome here at the museum. If it shines, it's beautiful.

Welcome to a shining spot in Glendale, the Museum of Neon Art. MONA, as it's abbreviated, is a hub of all sorts of curves and colors in neon light.

Neon signs, though less common than they once were, are a cool part of art history we can all appreciate. After all, who doesn't love bright colors made with science?

Neon of the past, present, and future is displayed here at the museum, with guest artist exhibits and more.

Not all of the art displayed is abstract or vintage, either. Even neon artists want to goof off sometimes.

You can also sign up for hosted classes and workshops to craft neon artwork of your own for a fee. Once you've got your own hands on it, you'll see just how much love and care were put into every piece displayed here.

The museum is open from noon to 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. You can also book this museum as a small event space if you want to make MONA a part of your special day.
