An iconic Northern California water park got a massive makeover a few months ago. What was once known as Waterworld Concord is now Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord. The name might be different, but a lot of what made us fall in love with this water park in the first place has stayed the same. The rides, the sno-cones, and most importantly—the lazy river! If you have yet to make a trip to this epic water park, don't worry. There's still plenty of summer left, but you better get on it soon. After all, your summer won't be complete without a few hours on this delightful lazy river.
This is the first season that Waterworld is now known as Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord. The colossal water park went through a few changes but a lot has stayed the same, including the blissfully refreshing lazy river.
The lazy river, called the Kaanapali Kooler, is considered the longest lazy river in Northern California! At a glorious 1,100-feet long, you could spend hours going 'round and 'round the river.
Sit back and take it slow as the lazy river leads you around the park. The water is wonderfully refreshing and the surrounding scenery is perfect for kicking back and letting your worries drift away.
Nobody is ever too old to enjoy a nice, tranquil float around the river. This iconic activity is perfect for all ages and it never gets old. It's a great way to start off your day at the water park or simply fill in some time between thrilling slides and rides.
The lazy river isn't the only thing the park is notable for. In fact, it's also home to a seriously epic wave pool. At 635,000 gallons, it's actually the largest man-made body of water in the region. Grab a tube or brave it freestyle, the pool's ocean-size waves are an awesome thrill.
Of course, you'll find a plethora of slides just waiting for you to zoom down them.
And there are plenty of heart-stopping rides that are bound to impress even the bravest of thrill seekers. The Honolulu Halfpipe is a whopping four stories tall and you're sure to be hooked from the first drop.
Spending the day at a water park is an iconic past time that will never go out of style. Don't forget to lather on the sun screen and be sure to grab a sno-cone before you leave. This is what summer is all about!
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord is located at 1950 Waterworld Pkwy, Concord, CA 94520. They are open 10:30 am every day and close at 6:00 pm on weekdays (7:00 pm on weekends).
