With Rare Books, Graphic Novels, and Literary Gifts, Peregrine Book Company is a Must For Arizona Booklovers

I discovered my new favorite independent bookstore in the historic town of Prescott, Arizona.

I've always loved bookstores. While I am not as avid a reader as I once was, it still fills my heart whenever I enter the doors of a local bookstore packed with shelves of page-turning novels. I find it quite inspiring, especially as a writer. Although I love a massive bookstore with a cafe inside, enticing me to grab a book and a cup of coffee and start reading, I much prefer the smaller, more intimate feel of a local, independent shop. Recently, I discovered my new favorite independent bookstore in the historic town of Prescott, and I feel that visiting is a must for all Arizona book lovers.

Located on Cortez Street, just a block from E. Sheldon Street in downtown Prescott, Peregrine Book Company is an independent bookstore for bibliophiles of any age. Walking in, I was struck by the store's tall ceilings and long, narrow space. Yet, there were shelves upon shelves of books and gifts everywhere I looked.

Upon entering Prescott's largest locally-owned book shop, I noticed a table of new fiction books. Beyond that was a colorful mural where I found books, learning toys, and stuffed animals for young children. A rocking chair sat in the corner by the mural, and I could only surmise that they offered a storytime hour on the store's events calendar. What a great spot for kids to read, play, and listen to a story!

If you or anyone you know enjoys anime, comic books, or graphic novels, there's quite a large selection here. T-shirts and posters also lined the walls, in case you were looking for a gift in those genres.

Head to the back of the store and you'll find a locked cabinet filled with rare and antique books. If you're looking for a first edition of a classic book or a collectible for yourself or as a gift, you can try your luck here at Peregrine Book Company.

Shelf after shelf, table after table, this bookstore is a treasure trove of unique books, gifts, stationery, and much more. Among my favorite items sold here are ceramic vases shaped like books with beautifully illustrated covers of classic novels like The Secret Garden and Pride and Prejudice. They are so pretty and would look great on a bookshelf.

There are also bookmarks, of course, along with journals, pens, and jars of ink for those who love to do calligraphy. Mugs are another great gift item sold here, and the store even has a host of classic board games packaged like classic books. If you have any book lovers in your life, Peregrine Book Company is the perfect spot to grab a gift for them.

When was the last time you stepped foot in a bookstore? If you haven't made your way to Prescott yet, I urge you to explore the town and visit Peregrine Book Company. After all, it's a must for all Arizona book lovers!
