Alaska’s Annual Strawberry Festival Belongs On Your Summertime Bucket List

We have a strong agricultural community here in Alaska. The Palmer area has many farmers, and one great farm puts on a strawberry festival every year. This is a fun event for the whole family, right in the height of the summer.

Every year during the strawberry crop, Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm hosts a fabulous festival.

This strawberry festival is a huge hit with the community. It celebrates all things summer.

The picking of your own strawberries is just the tip of the iceberg.

There are so many great things to do during this festival. There are many contests and even live music.

There are many other crops available to pick as well if you are looking to stock your pantry.

Festival-goers enjoy the vibrant Crazy Rooster Market and Arts Fair. There are agricultural themed rides and games for kids, too.

There are plenty of picnic tables for you to rest and relax in, under the perfect backdrop of Pioneer Peak!

Don't forget the ButteAthlon, a triathlon that coincides with the festival. They also have a family-friendly version, the Farm Fun Run. It's a 5k that runs around the farm property on the first day of the festival.

With plenty of delicious food and drink available, it's easy to spend the whole day here.

Make sure to try the frozen lemonade, or grab a slice of juicy watermelon! You can find so many items that remind you of a perfect Alaskan summer day.

There are even hay rides that the whole family can enjoy!

The festival lasts the entire weekend! Hop on over to Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm for the Strawberry Festival on July 12th and July 13th. The fun lasts from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day!
