Nothing beats an evening of stargazing in Alabama, especially on a clear night, where the stars are twinkling in the most magical way.
From comets to constellations to planets, you never really know what you'll see while staring into our beautiful night sky.
Speaking of planets, it's not uncommon to see two or three of them in close proximity to each other while gazing up at the galaxies. However, to be able to see five of them near each other is quite rare.
Not only that, during this celestial event this month, the planets will be aligned along with the crescent moon, so it will be a sight to behold.
Last year, there was a similar planetary phenomenon, where Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn were visible with the naked eyes. Even though it was an incredible sight to see, this month's event is expected to be more spectacular.
Mark your calendars for March 25 through March 30, where you can witness Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, Uranus, and Mars with the naked eyes. This rare and extraordinary celestial event will only be visible in the sky for a few days after sunset.
Venus will be the brightest planet in the sky, but you may need binoculars to spot Uranus. The best day to witness this cosmic planetary show is Monday, March 27. You'll want to find the darkest spot in your area and look towards the western side of the horizon.
Don't forget to set your alarm clock. You don't want to miss this planet parade in Alabama! And if you don't own a telescope, binoculars are recommended.
