When compared to other states, Alabama is very unique. That's a fact. Unfortunately, people from other parts of the country overlook Alabama's uniqueness and believe that people from here are just plain weird. Listed below are 10 experiences that most Alabamians have had at least once in their lives. While we think these experiences are normal, people in other parts of the country believe they're truly bizarre.

1. You've had to explain to people from out of state that not everyone in Alabama lives on a farm in the country.

After all, we do have several major cities that many Alabamians call home.

2. While driving down a rural two-lane road, you've encountered a deer.

You either hit the deer, or you hit the ditch.

3. You've arrived to the grocery store 10 minutes late when the forecast predicted snow.

Things just wouldn't be the same if we didn't go into full-on panic mode when snow is on the way.

4. While running late for work, you've gotten stuck behind some type of farm equipment on a main road.

This happens far too often.

5. You've had to use the AC unit and heater in the same day.

There's no denying that Alabama has the most unpredictable weather.

6. During a tornado warning, you've either hid from it in your basement or...

...stood in your front yard looking for it. Admit it. You know you've done it!

Sure, this concoction might sound gross, but it's not. Don't knock it until you've tried it!

Even during the winter months, Alabama's weather is unpredictable.
