Big dishes are served in small restaurants throughout Delaware, and the First State is known for hole-in-the-wall restaurants in all of the small towns. These tiny spots in particular caught my attention for being under-the-radar restaurant in Delaware that serve dishes that are absolutely, well, scrumdiddlyumptious.
1. Mrs. Robino's Restaurant, Wilmington
Homemade spaghetti and lasagna are the cornerstones of this under-the-radar restaurant in Delaware. Mrs Robino's simple Italian menu, featuring homestyle, hearty traditional meals, will satisfy all of your Sunday Dinner desires.

2. The Odd Fellows Cafe, Smyrna
Oddfellows Cafe's head chef, Willie, whips up the most amazing farm-to-table concoctions on a daily basis at this small spot on Main St. in Smyrna. When it comes to under-the-radar restaurants in Delaware, Oddfellows is one of the finest dining spots you can stumble upon.

3. Corner Bistro, Wilmington
Corner Bistro in Wilmington is a great spot for lunch any day. They offer a Bistro (express) Lunch that varies every day. You'll get the chef's choice for your main dish, a cup of the soup du jour, a small salad, and a sweet dessert to finish it off. All of the food here is fresh, and there are plenty of healthy options, which can otherwise be hard to find in Delaware's largest city.

4. Gaudiello's Italian Hoagies
Delaware is well known for great hoagies and subs, and many Delawareans will run to Casapulla's or Capriotti's, but Wilmington residents know about the hole in the wall that is Gaudiello's - and they might have the best subs in the state.

5. El Dorado, Rehoboth Beach
El Dorado in Rehoboth Beach stands out in a town that serves up fish tacos at plenty of restaurants. When a beach town restaurant can boast some of the best Tacos de Pescado in the state, you know it's worth stopping by. Don't be fooled by the quiet exterior - this place is anything but ordinary.

Fat Rick and Son's has been catering Wilmington-area picnics, events, and parties and has been known around the state as an amazing barbeque place with some of the best smoked meats in Delaware. They finally opened a restaurant in the Foulkstone Plaza Office Park and it is open for lunch on weekdays from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

9. El Nopal, Dover
The beef tongue tacos at El Nopal are mouthwatering and tender - by far the best tacos linguas I've had in Delaware. Don't drive by this place, even if you only have time for takeout, it's worth ordering a taco or two for the road.

10. R&R Grill and Bar, Laurel
R & R Grill and Bar in Laurel is a divey hole in the wall bar that's frequented by families and bikers alike - and the food is always delicious. Pictured above is my choice, whenever I visit: fried fish, fresh fries (their fries are AMAZING) and hand-battered onion rings. Okay, so I like fried bar food - a lot. This place is worth a stop if you're just in the mood for a great bar night.

11. Fin Alley, Fenwick Island
You've GOT to try the Crab Salsa at Fin Alley in Fenwick Island - it's phenomenal. This new beach spot has never disappointed - they serve up some amazing food for such an under-the-radar restaurant in Delaware.
