You may know of the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. This 15,978-acre tidal marsh area was established as a refuge for Atlantic waterfowl. So the park is well-known for its amazing bird and wildlife watching as well as its educational programming. But a lesser known fact is that it offers breathtaking sunrise views. So grab your coffee and camera and head over there early in the morning to enjoy the waking day.

Bombay Hook is located in Smyrna, which looks out over Delaware Bay. Entrance to the refuge is just about 10 miles north of Dover.

Visitors enjoy the refuge and its scenery in a number of ways. Take the 12-mile wildlife drive. Tie on your shoes and go on one of the five walking trails, two of which are handicapped accessible. And there are three observation towers perfect for sunrise photos.

The park opens a half hour before sunrise. So this guarantees you'll be able to catch the waking day. Do note that there are entrance fees to the refuge, which must be paid with cash or check.
