Delaware’s towns, both small and large, feature bustling business districts that take you back in time. While you might not run into a milk truck anymore, these main street restaurants in Delaware keep up the tradition ofamily-owned restaurants serving the best fresh, housemade food in the state.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:
1. Main Street Cafe, Harrington
Erika Paradee-Murray for OIYS
Main Street Cafe in Harrington is appropriately named to start off this list! This little cafe opened up recently and has been a hit in Harrington! Their homemade desserts are out of this world, and all of their dishes are made with locally sourced ingredients. Try some Delaware comfort foods, like their chicken and dumplings, or just pig out on their delicious eggs benedict.

2. Taverna Rustica, Newark
Taverna is located right in the heart of Newark. They serve up grilled pizzas to die for, as well as housemade pasta. Their ravioli dishes are always perfectly prepared - so get on down to Main Street and treat yourself to a rustic italian dinner you won't soon forget.
