Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). Does anything say “summer is here” more than biting into the juicy sweetness of a ripe strawberry? What makes those strawberries even tastier is if you picked them yourself. Sure, you can attempt to grow some fruit at home if you’ve got a garden. But for those of us not blessed with green thumbs, another great option is to visit a u-pick fruit farm in Connecticut. We’ve got plenty, and one of our favorite is Starvish Farm in East Windsor. This delightful little family-owned farm is full of a number of different strawberry varieties. The berry season in New England is quite short, and the strawberries are at their best right now!
