This Seasonal, Outdoor Restaurant In Connecticut Is So Much More Than A Place To Eat
It’s official, spring is here in Connecticut. The daffodils are blooming, birds are chirping, and temperatures have started to rise. But what really marks the beginning of spring is the re-opening of The Place in Guilford. This iconic restaurant will open its doors for the 2018 season on Friday, April 27th and we can’t wait!
The Place is a quirky outdoor eatery where tree stump seats surround bright red tables under the open sky.
Every night is a cookout at The Place in Guilford. The 18-foot long fire pit is manned by savvy grill masters who cook outdoors right next to the dining area.
The Place was started in the 1940's by a sailor named Whitey as an informal clambake on the side of the road. It later became Whitey's, a restaurant where you sat on tree stumps enjoying roasted clams.
The Place is much more than just a roadside spot to grab a bite. The whole experience is tons of fun, so grab some friends and start the spring season off the right way at The Place.
The Place in Guilford is open Monday - Thursday 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Friday 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Saturday 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Sunday Noon - 9:00 p.m. No credit cards are accepted, so bring cash or use the ATM on site. You are more than welcome to BYOB. The Place is located at 891 Boston Post Rd., Guilford, CT.
