It goes without saying that the Nutmeg State’s large cities have plenty of attractions, from museums to restaurants and plenty more. But we have so many fantastic small towns in Connecticut that are also worth a visit. The idea of an idyllic small town in New England peppered with white church-filled countrysides is a stereotype for a reason. Whether you’re in the lush rolling grandeur of the Litchfield Hills or tucked away in the Quiet Corner, there are quaint and charming little small towns all over the state. These places may be lacking in population, but they’re full of natural beauty, boutique shops, and tasty corner cafes. One of our favorite small towns in Connecticut for a weekend getaway is Colebrook. It’s home to under 1,500 people, but there’s a lot to explore. Here are some of the top attractions in Colebrook, CT:
Colebrook is in Litchfield County, right in the middle of the Litchfield Hills. This is one of the prettiest areas of the state - it's rich in natural beauty.
You'll find just that at Norbrook Farm Brewery. In addition to sampling beers, you can also enjoy food trucks, a disc golf course, trails, and farm animals.

Want to enjoy some time outdoors? Algonquin State Forest is perfect for that.
This 700-acre lake is stocked with trout and great for an afternoon of fishing or relaxing by the water. Note that swimming is prohibited here.
Did you know that one of the oldest general stores in Connecticut is in Colebrook? The Colebrook Store originally opened in 1812 and still has that great nostalgic feel.
