For a small state, Connecticut has quite the shoreline. We have an impressive number of miles of beaches in our state, thanks to our rivers and the Atlantic Ocean. All that prime waterfront property means there are plenty of restaurants in Connecticut with incredible views. One eatery in New London gets to the point with their name: On the Waterfront. This aptly-named spot has some of the best views in Connecticut. The food is just as good as the views, and the Thames River certainly looks magnificent from this vantage point!
On the Waterfront boasts some great views. You can even reach the restaurant by boat via the nearby Thamesport Marina!
When the weather is warm, sit on the covered patio and watch the boats as they dock. There's an indoor dining area too, but these riverfront views are so lovely we'd be hard-pressed to go inside!
The robust menu has quite the selection. Seafood, steak, Italian, salad, sandwiches: you can't go wrong with anything here. There are plenty of non-meat options for any vegetarians in your party.
New London is filled with great restaurants, but few have as varied of a menu as On the Waterfront. Combine the excellent views with the excellent food and this place is an absolute delight for all your senses.
If you don't feel up to waiting for a table, you may want to consider making a reservation in advance. They can sometimes get pretty crowded, especially on weekend evenings.
