Hike Along The Majestic Coast At Silver Sands State Park In Connecticut
We love a good hike through the woods or mountains as much as anyone, but there’s something special about a beach hike in Connecticut. Walking on a trail along the water is so peaceful, and there’s nothing like dipping your toes in to cool off. Silver Sands State Park is one of our favorite state parks in the Nutmeg State. This beautiful oasis has a great variety of landscape to keep you intrigued as you meander down the park’s trails. One of our favorites is the easy boardwalk trail right along the water. Check it out:
Silver Sands State Park spans nearly 300 acres and has a remarkable array of different landscapes. Beaches, dunes, marshes, and forest are all spread throughout the park.
The two mile-trail features such breathtaking scenery that it wont' even feel like exercise! This is one of our favorite kid-friendly hikes in Connecticut.
The boardwalk portion is perfect for jogging, but honestly we prefer to complete it at a stroll. After all, you definitely want to take time to enjoy the amazing landscape that surrounds you!
Please note that dogs are prohibited in much of the park so as to not disturb the wildlife. This is one hike that Fido won’t be able to enjoy with you.
You can learn more about this park from the Connecticut State Parks site.
