This Dinosaur-Themed Road Trip Through Connecticut Is The Ultimate Family Adventure
Dinosaurs are one interest that many people never outgrow. Sure, they’re beloved by many kids, but even as an adult, it’s tough to not find prehistoric creatures fascinating. It’s so amazing to think about how these massive beasts roamed what’s now the Nutmeg State millions of years ago. Whether you’ve got a young kid obsessed with dinosaurs or you yourself are a science nut, we’ve got a dinosaur road trip in Connecticut that will delight the entire family. Check it out:

The entire trip will take right about two hours of driving time, though of course you'll want to spend time at each stop. This is a great option for a weekend road trip with an overnight stay in the middle.
Powder Hill Dinosaur Park, Middlefield, CT 06455, USA

Looking at our state today, it's hard to imagine dinosaurs once roaming the land, but we had tons of them here about 200 million years ago. Powder Hill Dinosaur Park isn't as well known as some of the stops on this list, but it's a must for history lovers. There are footprints from three different species of dinosaur here, and you can stand right by where these ancient creatures once walked.

Your next stop is nicknamed Connecticut's Jurassic Park. The park has both indoor and outdoor exhibits and also has real dinosaur tracks you can check out.

The Connecticut Science Center is a great science museum in Hartford that features all kinds of neat exhibits, including the largest butterfly house in Connecticut. It is home to several life-sized dinosaur models that are entertaining for kids and kids at heart.

Your next stop, The Dinosaur Place, will give you a chance to stretch your legs. You'll find several dino-related attractions here, including a 1.5-mile trail complete with dinosaur models, plus a summer splash pad that is the largest splash pad in New England.

We'll end this dinosaur road trip in Connecticut at Tee Rex Mini Golf, an 18-hole putt-putt course in Thompson that's a total blast.
