Christmas In These 7 Connecticut Towns Looks Like Something From A Hallmark Movie
Nothing captures the magnificent spirit of Christmas more than the gorgeous New England scenery of a Hallmark movie. Far from a Hallmark movie fantasy, these seven Connecticut towns keep the magic of Christmas going every year.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. Mystic's quaint and picturesque charm has enchanted visitors for years. Town events keep the Christmas season merry and bright from the end of November through January. Festive events have included Victorian Lantern Tours, a Parade of Lights, and Christmas Carolers. While a little different this year, Mystic kept up the holiday spirit with plenty of social distancing activities, including a Holiday Spectacular in the Olde Mystic Village.

Chester shines as brightly as any star during the Christmas season. In this small, storybook town you will see stars lit up all across town.

Greenwich literally brings in the childhood magic of Christmas each year. While Santa had to keep his distance and stay at the North Pole this year, he did send three of his representatives - Dasher, Dancer, and Vixen - for the 12th Annual Reindeer Festival.

As the second smallest town in Connecticut, this sleepy little town of Falls Village is everything you expect to see in a Hallmark movie. They have a sense of community that ensures they keep the joy of the holidays alive. Although they couldn't have their traditional Santa visit and caroling, the town hosted a drive up tree lighting.

Essex always dresses up in her best holiday attire. This historic town celebrates by decking the halls and doorways of its charming downtown shops and scheduling holiday tours of the local historic homes. For its 11th year, the Ivoryton Village Alliance lit up its 500,000 lights and let the Christmas spirit glow.

The town of Milford loves everything that is Christmas. Driving through this happy, little town you'll find neighborhoods and shops that make this town look like a true Christmas village. Even the local firehouse gets into the fun by decorating the firetruck.

In mid-November, a storm destroyed New Haven's Christmas tree. In true Christmas movie fashion, the community came together with 40 residents offering a replacement tree. An anonymous donor replaced the tree and the beautiful tree lighting was able to go on. Now, that's what you would expect in a Hallmark movie.
The most important part of keeping the Spirit of Christmas is the sense of community. These little towns keep that spirit going all through the year.
