We're pretty far from Nashville here in the Nutmeg State, and New England tends to have its own special vibe that's very different than a honky-tonk Southern joint. But we've got a fun restaurant in Connecticut that will make you feel like you were magically transported down South. This place has great food, an incredibly fun atmosphere, and fun activities like a mechanical bull, live music, and line dancing classes.
Cadillac Ranch is a saloon in Southington, but when you enter this place, the Southern decor and line dancing just might have you thinking you're in Nashville.
The Ranch has an interesting story. It was opened in 1992 by Graham Nicholson, who was the first person to open a karaoke bar in the United States.
His wife had always longed to open a country dance restaurant, so after opening three successful karaoke bars, the pair expanded with Cadillac Ranch.
The atmosphere here is a blast, especially if you're into line dancing! Dancing lessons (adults only) are available several times a week, and there are even classes for beginners.
Open nights are great if you already know how to dance.
Not into dancing? There's plenty more to enjoy here.
There's plenty of bar food to be had, from tacos...
...to hot dogs...
...and award-winning wings.
There are two bars here, one in the main room and one in the large dance hall. You can also check out games like Jenga, cornhole, and a few arcade games.
This is one great place to experience a Yankee honky tonk like nowhere else!
