7 Holiday Markets In Denver Where You’ll Find Amazing Treasures For Everyone
Sure, it’s quick and convenient to order Christmas gifts online. But something is lost when you don’t get out there, surrounded in the holiday spirit, to find that something special for each person on your list. These local holiday markets in the Denver area provide a festive setting to shop for unique and locally crafted items.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. 1. Denver Christkindl Market (Skyline Park, 16th Street Mall - Denver, CO)
Every winter, skyline park transforms into an 'old world' European Christmas village for one of Denver's favorite holiday markets. You will delight in the Bavarian musicians belting out beautiful Christmas carols as you shop at the over thirty specialty vendors located in wooden huts throughout the market area. Munch on baked apples or gingerbread biscuits while sipping on authentic German beer or spiced mulled wine. You will be able to find unique gifts as you shop the imported items such as cuckoo clocks and beer steins. Added Bonus: Make it a truly magical holiday experience by staying to ice skate at Skyline Park's southwest rink after attending the Christkindl Market, which takes place through December 23rd.
2. Georgetown Christmas Market (6th Street - Georgetown, CO 80444)
Experience old-school charm in this quaint mountain town during two weekends in December (Dec. 2 & 3, and Dec. 9 & 10) at the Georgetown Christmas Market. You will love shopping for handicrafts by local artisans as you take in the small town's surroundings that transport you to a Christmas scene from long ago. View the beautifully decorated storefronts as you travel through town on a horse drawn wagon ride. You can also view Georgetown's giant lit up tree and listen to Christmas carols sung by carolers dressed in Victorian costumes. All this, while surrounded in the magical snow-covered Rocky Mountains.
3. Denver Handmade Homemade Market (970 Yuma St., Denver, CO 80204)
Denver Handmade Homemade is a local craft and food market that opens its doors every second Saturday with the goal of making, "local goods more accessible and those that make them more successful." This special-edition two-day holiday market takes place on December 9 & 10 from 12-5 p.m. each day and will host different makers each of those days. Don't miss out on the fun with live music, food trucks, cash bar, and plenty of surprises at this annual event.
4. Friday Night Bazaar - Holiday Edition (1717 E. 39th Ave., Denver, CO 80205)
You can check out some of the best Colorado craft vendors at this holiday edition of the Friday Night Bazaar on December 1 and 8 from 4-10 p.m. A different band will be playing music each Friday, and local food trucks will be on site to satisfy your hunger while you shop. Added bonus: This is the only holiday market in the Mile HIgh City that will be offering the Colorado Bottle Shop and Tasting Room this season. They will have cases and bottles of local Colorado wine, cider, and spirits at the bazaar for you to purchase for friends and family (or yourself!).
5. Denver Holiday Flea (1000 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203)
The Denver Flea kicks off their massive holiday event on December 1st with a pre-flea shopping Holiday party from 6-9 p.m. You must be at least 21 years old to attend this preview party, which is a festive combination of shopping, drinks, great music, and delicious food. The Holiday Flea will be open December 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and December 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for shoppers to purchase one-of-a-kind gifts and enjoy themselves in the process. 6. Holiday Art Market at Olde Golden Christmas (809 15th St., Golden CO 80401)
Through the end of December, you are invited to Golden's Foothills Art Center where you will have the opportunity to browse over 100 Colorado artist's work all under one roof. Check many gifts off your list while shopping their extensive collection of jewelry, ceramics, glass, photographs, paintings, and more.
7. Halcyon's Mistletoe Marketplace (245 Columbine St., Denver, CO 80206)
This is the first year that Halcyon, a Cherry Creek hotel, is hosting this market which gives shoppers exclusive access to some of the most unique boutiques in Cherry Creek. Over twenty retailers will be in the Halcyon ballroom on December 19th from 6-8 p.m., making it a truly wonderful one-stop-shop for some really amazing holiday gift finds. You can also enjoy seasonal treats and one free drink ticket while shopping at this event.
