Is it just me or do you automatically assume that a town with a population of less than 500 would be somewhat uneventful and—dare I say it—boring? Shame on us for thinking this way because what some tiny towns lack in size, they make up for in other ways (and then some). Take for instance the tiny town of Creede with its population of just under 300 and unique opportunities galore. See for yourself:

Incorporated in 1892, Creede was a one time booming silver town (the last silver boom town in Colorado, to be exact) that once housed nearly 10,000 residents.

Sadly, the population declined following the Silver Panic of 1893 and came to rely on what was essentially zinc and lead scrap from surrounding ores.
Soon after the Silver Panic, Creede returned to its roots and became a hotbed for the hard rock mining industry by mining a number of different precious minerals until 1985 when the price of silver once again plummeted.
