10 Picture Perfect Creeks In Arizona You’ll Want To Visit This Summer
Are you looking for a fun, relaxing way to spend a summer day? One fantastic option is to spend time cooling off near a creek where you can hear the water flowing over rocks, birds in the trees, and even feel a warm summer breeze. Check out these lovely creeks around Arizona that will offer a picture perfect scenario!
1. Ash Creek
Located near Mount Graham, this creek is accessible via the Ash Creek Trail #307. You can find remnants of the logging industry that once existed here and even fish for trout.
2. Canyon Creek
This creek is known for its trout fishing opportunities as well as being home to an array of wildlife. Located on the Mogollon Rim, Canyon Creek has several camping spots nearby so that you can so that you can spend a night or two here.
3. East Clear Creek
Another creek on the Mogollon Rim, this one extends down from Winslow, carving its way through beautiful landscapes. If you’re looking for a chance to dip your toes, go for a swim, or fish for crawdads, you’ll want to visit this creek.

You know about Fossil Creek, right? This wildly popular creek is seeing better days since the Forest Service started enforcing permits to visit, so we’re glad to see Fossil Creek looking pristine. This place is perfect for a day hike, picnic, and quick swim.
5. Horton Creek
Wow, talk about a lovely setting! This creek is another Mogollon Rim treasure surrounded by towering pines, hiking trails, and picturesque spots for a picnic.
6. Oak Creek
One of the most visited areas in the state, Oak Creek is a beautiful area to visit no matter the season. A hike on the West Fork of Oak Creek Trail will take you deep into the canyon and show off the unique beauty of the Sedona area.
7. Sycamore Creek
As the name suggests, you will get to see sycamores (and various other trees) lining the banks of this creek in Sycamore Canyon. This place is absolutely perfect for hiking before taking a dip in Parson’s Spring.
8. Tonto Creek
Sitting just below the Mogollon Rim, this creek extends down into the Hellsgate Wilderness. It can be a bit hot to visit in the summer on the south end of the creek, but the northern spots are quite nice in the summer.
9. West Clear Creek
This creek on the Mogollon Rim starts just a few miles south of Happy Jack through a beautifully rugged canyon to Camp Verde. It’ll be a hot visit in the summer but a stop at the Bull Pen will give you a chance to take a quick swim in one of the swimming holes here.
10. Wet Beaver Creek
Located just north of West Clear Creek, this creek is smaller but the views are amazing! Located closer to Sedona, you’ll find towering trees on the banks of the creek along with cool water and swimming holes.
