10 Restaurants In Arizona To Get Mexican Food That Will Blow Your Mind
Arizona is famous for its Mexican food so that’s why today we’re highlighting some of the state’s favorite Mexican restaurants. For this list, we were looking for places that either have an incredible reputation or did things just a little differently than other restaurants. Check it out!
1. Barrio Cafe, Phoenix
This award-winning restaurant offers up an elevated dining experience along with delicious and memorable dishes.
Address: 2814 N 16th Street, Phoenix.
2. Gadzooks Enchiladas and Soup, Phoenix
Just like the restaurant name suggests, this place focuses almost exclusively on the enchilada. They are handmade as you order, fire-baked, then served up piping hot. I personally like the green chile pork as a filling.
Address: 3313 North 7th Street, Phoenix.
3. Guayo's El Rey, Miami-Globe
This restaurant sitting in the southeastern portion of the state is often touted as having some of the best Mexican food you can find.
Address: 716 Sullivan Street, Miami.
4. Karichimaka, Tucson
This family-owned establishment has been serving up delicious dishes in town for more than 50 years. Be sure to try their chimis or tamales!
Address: 5252 South Mission Road, Tucson.
5. La 15 Y Salsas, Phoenix
For a Oaxacan-style meal, visit this place and eat a mole dish. We recommend the enmoladas (mole-covered enchiladas) and the tamal de mole.
Address: 1507 W Hatcher Road, Phoenix.
6. La Indita, Tucson
Finding vegetarian or even vegan options at Mexican restaurants can be a bit tough. La Indita is able to accommodate both diets with delicious results.
Address: 622 North 4th Avenue, Tucson.
7. Los Dos Molinos, Phoenix
Known for its spicy meals, Los Dos Molinos has several locations in the Phoenix area and is definitely a favorite around these parts.
Address: 8646 South Central Avenue, Phoenix.
8. Mariscos Mar Azul, Yuma
It only seems fitting that our city closest to the ocean gets a mention for delicious seafood fare, Mexican style. The shrimp tacos are good but be sure to also try the totinos or even the whole fish meal.
Address: 1314 South 4th Avenue, Yuma
9. MartAnne's Cafe, Flagstaff
Mexican for breakfast? Why no? The chilaquiles here are to die for but arrive early! This place gets packed fast.
Address: 112 East Route 66, Flagstaff.
10. Tania's 33, Tucson
Another vegetarian favorite in the Old Pueblo, this restaurant has quite a few soy-based meat alternatives, including chorizo, machacac, and even ceviche. Plus, the portions are huge!
Address: 614 North Grande Avenue, Tucson.
