Who doesn’t love to learn crazy things about the state they live in? Alaska actually has some pretty surprisingly hilarious facts and figures that many people aren’t aware of. So without further delay, enjoy these totally shocking and absolutely crazy facts about Alaska.

1) When the Japanese invaded Alaska in WWII, more Americans were wounded or killed defending Alaska than at Pearl Harbor!
2) Alaska (and 3 other states) have laws that prohibit the use of billboards for outdoor marketing! Might as well use them for a swing set or something.
3) Did you know in Alaska you can have pizza delivered by plane out to the bush?! Okay, maybe it's more like a cargo run where you can order a pizza a week ahead of time, but still... that's delivery!
4) The Alaskan Malamute became Alaska's state dog after a 3 year campaign and legislative process that all started because of a kindergartner asking, why Alaska didn't have a state dog.
6) The famous musician, Pit Bull, promoted his energy drink by promising to visit the Walmart with the highest amount of sales. Guess what, he ended up on a plane bound for Kodiak, Alaska. The town has a population of around 6,000 people.
9) Lastly, because the Aleutian Islands cross the 180 degree meridian of longitude, Alaska is the farthest Northern, Eastern, and Western state! Cool, huh?
