Kayaking This Glacial Lake In Alaska Is What Dreams Are Made Of
With summer calling our name here in Alaska, we’re writing up our adventure list. Right at the top is to kayak Eklutna Lake, a glacier fed lake an easy thirty minute drive outside of Anchorage, Alaska. This beautiful spot offers stunning mountain scenery and a gorgeous lake to boot. Bring the whole family and get outside this summer!

Located right off the Glenn Highway, this adventure spot is filled with fun things to do. One of the best is to get right on the water and go kayaking.

It’s located inside the Chugach State Park, and ringed by the Chugach Mountain Range. This area is absolutely gorgeous.

In the morning the wind on the water is gentle, so it’s a wonderful time to start paddling. You can kayak across the lake, or stay close to the launch. There are many nooks and crannies along the shoreline for you to explore.

You can rent your kayaks there so you don’t have to worry about bringing them yourself. This makes adventuring here so much easier!

For four hour, half day rentals, a double kayak is $55.00, and a single is $50.00. Or rent it for the whole day and book it for $70.00 for a double, and $65.00 for a single.

Book a mountain bike for the day, and you can even add on a trailer. They also offer guided tours both on the water in your kayak, and on your mountain bike through the trails nearby.

Their shop is open Sunday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. On Saturdays, they’re open from 10:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.
