Stephens Gap Cave is the main feature of Stephens Gap Callahan Cave Preserve, which is located in the Woodville area of Jackson County, Alabama. It's one of the most photographed caves in the United States.
Cavers from all over the world visit Stephens Gap Cave, which has a 143-foot drop. If you plan to visit, keep in mind you'll need a permit prior to entering the preserve. To request a permit, which is free, click here.
Stephens Gap Cave has two entrances. One is a walk-down entrance that anyone can use, while the other entrance is perfect for advanced cavers and trained rappellers.
