The Malaga Inn, located in the Downtown Historic District of Mobile, was originally built circa 1862 as twin townhouses during the Civil War for the Goldsmith and Frohlichstein families.
These townhouses were wedding gifts for two sisters. They remained in the family until they were purchased in the 1960s and restored into the charming hotel we have today.
So, what's the rumor? Well, this historic hotel is believed to be one of the most haunted hotels in Alabama. Several guests have reported seeing the ghost of a woman dressed in white pacing the balcony of Room #007.
Many other guests have witnessed a chandelier swinging back and forth, lights coming on all by themselves, and furniture pieces mysteriously moving around on their own.
