From houses and hotels to restaurants and museums, there are many places in Alabama that are believed to be haunted. One of Alabama’s most haunted hotels is the Malaga Inn. Read on to learn the haunting story of this historic hotel.
The Malaga Inn, located in the Downtown Historic District of Mobile, was originally built circa 1862 as twin townhouses during the Civil War for the Goldsmith and Frohlichstein families.
These townhouses were wedding gifts for two sisters. They remained in the family until they were purchased in the 1960s and restored into the charming hotel we have today.
This historic hotel features 39 private rooms and suites that overlook the charming courtyard.
The Malaga Inn is a popular place to stay in Mobile during Mardi Gras, but this event isn't the only reason people are drawn to this historic hotel.
Many people are also drawn to it because of a particular rumor that's been floating around for decades.
So, what's the rumor? Well, this historic hotel is believed to be one of the most haunted hotels in Alabama. Several guests have reported seeing the ghost of a woman dressed in white pacing the balcony of Room #007.
