This beach park is especially wonderful for bird watchers as it is a protected sanctuary for several species. It is so protected, in fact, that beach access is actually off-limits from March through September so as not to disturb the nesting season of the Snowy Plover. It is illegal to harm the Plovers, their eggs, or their young.
